Twitter has become a powerful marketing tool and while the characters used are limited, the marketing potential for your business is boundless. An article published on the FOX Business website states that not only can Twitter be an effective way to get your message out; it can keep you up to date on the changing landscape of the industry your business is in. Regardless of the size of your business, all users have the same character restriction and platform within which to deliver their message making Twitter a level playing field.

The article cites a recent survey conducted by Market Probe International that states 72% of respondents are more likely to purchase from business they follow, with 30% being more likely to refer that business to others. In the same study, 86% of respondents state they are more likely to visit a business after receiving a trusted referral.  Twitter can be a powerful informational and marketing tool, but daily participation is necessary to generate valuable and shareable content. Much like your local community, you will need to be an active participant to be a trusted community member and reap the returns.
