Are you prepared for the ACA changes?

The Affordable Care Act is implementing new changes to come in October with insurance exchanges. It is thought that 17 million people will sign up for insurance benefits through the new exchanges. Everyone from patients to payers, to hospitals and clinics, must keep up to date on how these exchanges work and what will change.

One of the biggest problems that the ACA will hopefully tackle is the lack of dental coverage among Americans. Many seek help through the Emergency Department at a local hospital, but these places are not equipped to handle dental pain. They can only make the patient comfortable and send them somewhere appropriate, but even this can cost quite a bit of money. There are programs moving towards implementing dental departments in hospital facilities.
